How do you stay motivated when learning something new?

Generally; for as long as I can remember (my memory is fairly extensive), STAYING MOTIVATED has been the ABSOLUTE “bane of my existence.”
Both SELF-MOTIVATION, and; PROCRASTINATION, have been nearly lifelong, insurmountable challenges.
It’s probably the PRIMARY reason why I never felt compelled to tryout for school sports teams, complete college, advocate for workplace promotions, or; adhere to ANY types of deadlines.

Like many BLACK MEN, one of my most significant challenges to curating a more purposefully- driven life, is taking care of my health.
For over 35 years; Ya Boy CCG has been living with diagnoses of Diabetes, later Hypertension, then later; Neuropathy. More recently, 20 yr diagnosis of Anxiety, Depression, and; PTSD.
Friday, June 26, 2020, is now my SECOND BIRTHDAY. That date is when I began living my NEW NORMAL. Once AGAIN, I had to learn toΒ Get/ Stay Motivated when Learning Something New β¬οΈππΎβ¬οΈππΎβ¬οΈππΎ

September 2005, CCG arrived in Atlanta due to evacuating my home in New Orleans because of Hurricane Katrina.
About 5 weeks from today will be the 5-yr anniversary of the aforementioned health issues leading to my Left Leg Above Knee Amputation (LLAKA) at what WAS Atlanta Medical Center a.k.a AMC (R.I.P. AMC), Boulevard Avenue location, ATL, GA.
This month is the 4-yr anniversary of my appointment with ProCare Prosthetics and Orthotics, Midtown/ Buckhead ATL, to pickup my shiny, brand-spankin’ new, prosthetic leg.

April was the 4-yr anniversary of a NEW infection on the sole of my RIGHT foot costing my Right Pinky Toe at Grady Memorial Hospital (a.k.a. GMH, or, Grady), Downtown ATL, GA.
Doctors advised, upon inpatient discharge, I would require an additional 8 – 10 wks of IV Antibiotic Treatment. However, it would NOT require additional hospitalization. Could receive care at home, or, nursing care facility.
Opted for facility care. Other complications have made HERE where I continue to reside.

The real struggle is maintaining motivation to create a Regular Fitness Routine. Doing so will TREMENDOUSLY aide in successfully WALKING on my prosthetic leg.
Does ANYONE have any suggestions which might assist with my never-ending journey/ struggle???
AGAIN; Back to the Daily Prompt, “HOW do YOU Stay Motivated when Learning Something New?”
I Love You.
