What are MY feelings about eating MEAT?
I was raised within a family of carnivores. Yet; over the years, nearly ALL f our meat consumption habits have changed.
Mom passed away in July 2013. Her illnesses greatly contributed to her overall change in eating habits. Dad is now 88 years old. Age and some recent health challenges have had him to make adjustments.
My younger sister stopped eating red meat some time after moving to Atlanta during the late 1980s. When she met her now ex-husband during the mid 1990s, he also had been on the same path for at least 5 years. This means when my niece was born just into the early 2000s, she was raised to follow the same dietary directive.
From what I’ve heard, my now ex-bro-n-law is now pescatarian.
Sis now occasionally dabbles with red meat. When she goes to check on Dad, she sometimes fries a few slices of bacon for him to eat for breakfast, and, a few more for him to share with her. Niecey is holding on strong. She still does NOT eat red meat.
My feelings are mixed.
For various reasons, I have had a many years-long Love-Hate Relationship with food. Though by smaller servings, and, less frequency, I do still eat meat. Seafood is my favorite. In fact, just yesterday I had Fried Fish for lunch, and, Shrimp Egg Foo Young for dinner. This morning, 2 delicious Breakfast Sausage links completed my breakfast, while a hearty Cheeseburger made for a very tasty lunch. Dinner was a somewhat lighter Grilled Turkey and Cheese Sandwich with a cup of Potato Soup.
Tomorrow could be a completely different situation.
I do REALLY enjoy a few Meatless Meals per week, which keep me quite sated, and, SANE.
Have I answered the question? Not kidding. Have I, though?
Bon Appétit.
