  • What is something others do that sparks your admiration?

    Good Wednesday!!!

There are SEVERAL things others do that spark my admiration. Here are just a few.

    1. Stepping out on faith, and, trying without fear.
    2. Creating something beautiful from raw materials. Whether artistic endeavors,  horticulture,  fashion,  or, culinary mastery – creating beauty from nothing.
    3. Extending kindness without expectations of reciprocity.
    4. Performing tedious/menial job duties and responsibilities without constant complaining.
    5. Commitment to physical fitness.

What is something others do that sparks YOUR admiration?

  • Good Tuesday!!!

Yesterday, and each December 1, is celebrated and honored as World AIDS Day.

This year’s World AIDS Day theme is, “Overcoming Disruption,  Transforming the AIDS Response.”

Additionally; the ENTIRE month of December is recognized as World HIV/AIDS Awareness Month.

During the month of December we place special emphasis on celebrating the soldiers from ALL walks of life who continue fighting and living with HIV/AIDS, honoing the fallen angels who have gone on to their heavenly reward, and; actively supporting HIV/AIDS activism, education, and, research.

2025 is the FIRST year since 1988 the President of the United States of America, and United States Government have NOT issued a statement supporting World AIDS Day, and/or, World HIV/AIDS Awareness Month.

The United States Department of State (State Departme) issued an email to government employees,

“The US Government will not be celebrating World AIDS Day this year. “

Global icon Madonna released a scathing message via her social media criticizing Donald John Trump, Sr., and the INACTION of the current White House Administration.

  • What are your feelings about eating meat?

What are MY feelings about eating MEAT?

I was raised within a family of carnivores.  Yet; over the years,  nearly ALL f our meat consumption habits have changed.

Mom passed away in July 2013. Her illnesses greatly contributed to her overall change in eating habits.  Dad is now 88 years old.  Age and some recent health challenges have had him to make adjustments.

My younger sister stopped eating red meat some time after moving to Atlanta during the late 1980s.  When she met her now ex-husband during the mid 1990s, he also had been on the same path for at least 5 years. This means when my niece was born just into the early 2000s, she was raised to follow the same dietary directive.

From what I’ve heard, my now ex-bro-n-law is now pescatarian.

Sis now occasionally dabbles with red meat. When she goes to check on Dad, she sometimes fries a few slices of bacon for him to eat for breakfast, and, a few more for him to share with her. Niecey is holding on strong.  She still does NOT eat red meat.

    My feelings are mixed.

For various reasons,  I have had a many years-long Love-Hate Relationship with food. Though by smaller servings, and, less frequency,  I do still eat meat.  Seafood is my favorite.  In fact,  just yesterday I had Fried Fish for lunch, and, Shrimp Egg Foo Young for dinner.  This morning, 2 delicious Breakfast Sausage links completed my breakfast, while a hearty Cheeseburger made for a very tasty lunch.   Dinner was a somewhat lighter Grilled Turkey and Cheese Sandwich with a cup of Potato Soup.

Tomorrow could be a completely different situation.

I do REALLY enjoy a few Meatless Meals per week, which keep me quite sated, and,  SANE.

Have I answered the question? Not kidding.  Have I, though?

    Bon Appétit.

  • Good Saturday Night!!!

A couple of weeks ago, was scrolling for something else on Amazon when I landed at THEE New Orleans-originated ELMER’S CHEE WEES. B

Aa a New Orleans native, I’ve been a LONG-TIME fan of Elmers, but; I’ve been living in Atlanta for 20 years.  So,  I  haven’t tasted the pleasure for YEARS.

These bags were part of a reasonably-priced 10 pack – 2 bags each of their 5 signature-flavored Cheese Curls; Bar-B-Que, GreenOnion, Hot-N-Spicy, Jalapeño, and of course, Original.

THIS is is how I am enjoyed my Bayou Classic Game Day 2025, with Elmer’s New Orleans Chee Wees.

    Bon Appétit.

  • Good Thursday Night!!!

This year’s Thanksgiving Dinner was par for the course, enjoyable, but; NOT outstanding.

However,  my Sunday Night Dinner was DELICIOUS.

1.) Firehouse Veggie Sub (large size, 12-in., toasted sub roll, spread with mayonnaise, stuffed with shredded lettuce,  sliced tomato, sliced bell peppers, pickles, olives, onion, mushrooms, and jalapeños. Layered with Cheddar, Monterey Jack, and Provolone cheeses, and drizzled with Italian Dressing),
    2.) Firehouse Oatmeal Cookie, and,
    3.) Diet Coke.

ALL from Firehouse Subs, 1465 Hudson Bridge Road, Stockbridge, GA 30281.

The regular Coca-Cola was an unexpected gift from Firehouse. Checking my receipt, I was not charged for the extra beverage. So, I gifted someone else with, “a Coke and a Smile… “

    Bon Appétit.
